Waypoint Cooperative LLC ("Waypoint," "we," "us") is a clinician-owned mental health practice at 40 Main Street, Suite 16, Box 4, Torrington, CT 06790. This page describes the privacy practices of this website, waypointcooperative.org. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

This page covers the website only. Your rights regarding your health information are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA, which is provided at intake and available on request at any time — call (860) 962-3945 or ask your clinician.

What this website collects

Very little, by design.

No accounts, no forms. This website has no login, no contact form, and does not ask you to enter personal or health information anywhere.
No analytics or advertising trackers. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or social media trackers.
No cookies. The site sets no cookies. During the current preview period, a temporary browser value (sessionStorage) remembers that you entered the preview code; it contains no personal information and disappears when you close the browser.
Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to operate and secure the service, as any web host does.
Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers. Google may log the technical details of that request (such as your IP address). No other information is shared.

The client portal

Appointment requests, intake paperwork, messaging, and payments happen through our secure client portal at waypointcooperative.clientsecure.me, operated by SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant practice management platform with which we maintain a Business Associate Agreement. Information you enter there is governed by that platform's safeguards and our Notice of Privacy Practices — not by this website.

Email and phone

Standard email is not a secure channel. Please do not send health information, symptoms, or clinical questions by email — call us at (860) 962-3945 or use the client portal instead. Our inboxes are not monitored continuously and are not for emergencies.

In a mental health emergency, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.

How we use and share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information reaching us through the portal, phone, fax, or in person is used to provide care, verify insurance benefits, schedule, and bill — as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices. Service providers that process data on our behalf (hosting, the client portal, phone/fax) are bound by contract to safeguard it.

Children

This website is a general-audience informational site and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your choices and rights

You can browse this entire website without providing any information about yourself.
Under HIPAA you have rights to access, amend, and receive an accounting of disclosures of your health records — the Notice of Privacy Practices explains how to exercise them.
Connecticut residents may have additional rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act; because this website collects essentially nothing, most of those rights are best exercised through the practice directly.

Changes to this policy

If our website practices change — for example, if we add a contact form or analytics — this page will be updated first, with a new effective date, before the change goes live.
